Love the Mac > Xbox + 1080p Update = Brick
[andrewterry.com] A similar thread on Major Nelson’s blog was seeing some lively activity on the subject too, before comments were closed. If you’re in the same position, don’t you find that what’s adding to the frustration is the lack of any kind of response from Microsoft? This started being reported a week ago.…!

SuicideNinja vs Video Games: According to the "investigative reporting" from GameSpot, I may end up partaking in the recent class-action lawsuit against Microsoft (if eligible, which doesn't sound likely). (via Cosmos)
Engadget: Seems like we've been hearing about World Cup 2006 for months now already, but we've still got two months before the first match in June (that'd be between Germany and Costa Rica), which is plenty of time for Microsoft to try and drum up sales of the ailing Xbox 360 across the pond in we'll-wait-for-the-PlayStation-3-or-Revolution Japan. The Blue Limited Edition 2006 FIFA World Cup Xbox 360 is basically your standard Premium bundle (wireless controller, 20GB drive, etc.), but comes with two Adidas Japan Blue bandanas for those sweaty late night sweaty sessions, EA's 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany, and, of course, an Adidas Japan Blue faceplate. David's Blog: I've played all three "next gen" consoles: Microsoft's Xbox 360, Sony's PlayStation 3, and Nintendo's Wii. I have already written plenty about the 360 (I think it is awesome), so I wanted to post my thoughts on PS3 and Wii. (via Cosmos)
FeedMoo, Tech News moOOed..: In the latest of a rash of PS3-related crimes, two 19-year old GameStop employees have been accused of stealing four PlayStation 3s and then telling police that armed gunmen had robbed the store and taken the consoles instead. The charges include suspected embezzlement, burglary, and conspiracy, all of which carry hefty jail sentences if the suspects are proven guilty. (via Cosmos)
Engadget: 1GB file sharing, address book, antispam/antivirus, and just about every other feature (and less) available on your run-o-the-mill, free email service. But if this is the kind of hard posing you need to remember your social status, then have it son, and double-quick 'cause the service is limited to only 10k of your well-heeled peers. (via Cosmos)
Computer Advice: Some of the wording of the suit is a little shaky, such as a claim by Ray's lawyer that "a Google search of the terms 'xbox 360' and 'brick' or 'bricking' shows over 15,000 results," but there does seem to be a lot of corroborating evidence for the basic claim of the Fall Updating damaging Xbox 360s, so if Microsoft doesn't come up with a fix quick, or start replacing affected boxes on the double, they could be facing a decent bit of hurt from Kevin and co. FeedMoo, Tech News moOOed..: While Xbox 360 users with 1080p displays enthusiastically greeted last week's dashboard update, it seems some folks are finding that the update is causing more problems than it fixes, with reports of random crashes, bricked consoles, and various display issues filling the forums on the official Xbox site, among other sites. From the looks of it, the majority of problems appear to be coming from those using VGA connections and resolutions less than 1080p, though there seems to be no limit to those affected. (via Cosmos)
