Love the Mac > Windows Vista: So unlike Mac OS X.
[Larry Borsato - Unpredictable. Unfocused. Just like life.] This video by David Pogue goes to great lengths to show that Windows Vista is not just a lame copy of Mac OS X. Or is it?

[Arno.org] Arno's Blog: The Design of the Mac OS X Shutdown Feature: The reason is that the pulsing sleep status light on my Macbook is much brighter when the lid is closed than when the computer has gone to sleep with the display open. Since my mac sleeps in the same room I do, and the brighter light is enough to give me trouble sleeping, an immediate sleep command is much preferable to closing the lid or waiting for the power saving settings to kick in (quite a long wait, to accomodate my normal usage).
[Winsupersite.com] Paul Thurrott's SuperSite for Windows: Apple Mac OS X Leopard ...: If you watch the WWDC keynote telecast (and the accompanying "PC guy" intro video, both of which are available on the Apple Web site), you'll notice immediately that Apple is more than a little preoccupied with Windows Vista. That's understandable, since Windows is Mac OS X's primary competition (in the sense that 2 percent of the market is competition for Windows) and Apple was inspired by Vista features like Spotlight (er, sorry, Windows Search) when creating its previous OS X version, Tiger (see my review).
[Blog.washingtonpost.com] Exploit Released for Unpatched Mac OS X Bug - Security Fix: The only grudge I see is that any vulnerability - and I can admit them UNgrudgingly - is enough to get Microsoftees to think that the playing field is now suddenly level. That the how-many-tens-of-thousands of viruses, adware, and spyware, and the dollars and processing power Microsoftees have to expend to protect against those threats, or how the Microsoftees have to become technicians just to keep their PCs up and running - like all of that goes away, or is somehow equal to, one vulnerability on the Macintosh.
[Veerle.duoh.com] Veerle's blog | Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard interface: It’s that time again where everybody starts daydreaming about iPhones, Tablets, Home cinema appliances, some are new and most of them popup every time there is an event. I’m not focusing on making an educated guess in what’s coming hardware wise but like to think a little of possible interface changes in 10.5 Leopard.
[Trinityrubicon.blogspot.com] Trinity Rubicon: Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard screenshots: "The dock doesn't change in the Goatse effect."(Yes, I will call it the Goatse effect, come ON) Apple's OS currently DOES have the ability to do multiple desktops, it just takes 3rd party utilities to give you some way of playing around with it. Under all of the apps that let you do that, the dock DOES go along with the visual effect, but it has to show the same thing on every desktop.
