Water + Keyboard = Not Good
[3000 miles from home | aram kudurshian's web site] A random post to remind people to take care of their computer components. Somehow or another (still unsure how it happened), I managed to get quite a bit of water into my Apple Wireless keyboard, causing erratic behavior and general mayhem. Even after attempting to dry out the keyboard and cleaning it, the behavior continues leading me to come to the conclusion that liquids and electronics don’t mix.
Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.
[A CERTAIN SLANT OF LIGHT] WHAT DO DEMOCRATS LIKE, ANYWAY?: No real surprise in this egregious behavior, however. Democrats are as parsimonious with praise as they are proligate with pretense. It takes awfully special people for the Democrats to draw ranks around them and laud. It takes a scatalogical, foul-mouthed Whoopie Goldberg monologue to get their adrenaline flowing and their hands pumping with applause.
[the wertz generation] MAY 2004: prison rituals, sexual sadism, torture, and beatings to death. This behavior has now produced.... Anyway... Mouse Hunt - "comic sensuality and mayhem" Apollo 13 - "emotional intensity" Blue Crush - "... no longer even sit at the keyboard and will probably be dead within two weeks. This is something I don
[ Craig Cline's Blog : Craig Cline's Blog] No-Treo: So, why am I telling you to rush out and get a cheap, ugly phone? Because the Nokia 6600 lets you add the cool features you want without paying for the ones you don't care about. For the price of a calling plan, you'll start with plenty of gadgetry you'd think they would have saved for the glitzy, high-end models. There's a speakerphone, voice dialing, an audio recorder, a serviceable 640-by-480 pixel camera, a (silent) video recorder, RealPlayer for playing back audio and video clips, an infrared port, and a flash memory slot that comes loaded with a 32-megabyte card.
[Conglomo-Blog] The Real Project Mayhem: The Chronicles of Phil: The boy has been on every stimulant on the market but unfortunately for me and anyone else in my house who appreciates a few moments of quiet, they seem to have worse side-effects than the original problem. He's either hyper, over-talkative, and seizing and screeching on the floor, or extremely irritable, constantly complaining of migranes which I'm not convinced exist, and causing general havoc if anyone indicates in any way that they disapprove of his behavior. He's only ever out of the way when he's on the computer killing Nazi after Nazi on some First Person Shooter; if he had killed as many Axis soldiers in World War 2 as he has in that game over the past 6 months, we wouldn't have needed D-Day, Little Boy, or Fat Man. Yet even while he is gattling Nazis he manages to piss everyone off by screaming at the top of his lungs for, say, me to "shut the hell up" when I'm crunching on a bowl of Chex-Mix.
[Jimspeak] Chinese Bus Ride from Hell: I did not sleep much at all. The one time I finally drifted off for 10 minutes I awoke to this scene: dazzling ravines on both sides of the bus, a narrow road, construction, rain and fog. I looked out the front window to see an approx 12 foot wide patch of concrete that we had to drive down to (~6" drop) then back up off of, with no guardrails and mud covering the road. I shat my pants.

[Bug.reaper.org] The BugEyed Review Blog » Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II ...: The game gives you the option to navigate your party through the game world with either the keyboard or the mouse, and I’ve found that a combination of both works the best for me, as the default keyboard layout is such that all the keys you need are all within reach of your one hand on the lefthandside of the keyboard. There are some rather important functions that can only be activated with the mouse, but this does not distract from the enjoyment, and neither does the fact that certain things are just easier with the keyboard. Take switching targets for instance.
[Blog.project76.tv] The project76 blog: for its accurate spoofing of 1980s science shows and its scary surreal moments like Music 2000 judged by Tchaikovsky's ghost played by Harry Enfield, and Mark Heap playing a man with a silly walk who has invented an aerosol of silence involving liquid skin. Dan Project76 had a futuristic keyboard as a child and sampled himself, his younger sister and Grandmother and made very annoying tunes out of it, annoying his entire family for hours at a time and once had a conversation with Look Around You co-star and co-writer Peter Serafinowicz outside a toilet in a theatre and he was most polite! Buy series 1 on DVD... it's great!

As attendees fly in from around the world, the unusually chilly weather is the topic on everyone's lips. But a long list of debuts, announcements, and news will take center stage once the show opens its doors on Thursday.
