Love the Mac > Running Mac OS X 10.3 on Nokia N900 - Oh PDA !

[Oh PDA !] The N900 broke the boundaries set for mobile phones. Now the future phones may be able to do this faster (well actually I don’t think they will ever be able to compete with current computers, but will be able to compete with 3-6 year old computers).

[Checking Together] Selecting an Open Source Operating System | Checking Together: With some server operating systems, the installation of the operating system and programs is done with less graphical (and often less friendly) tools than you’ll find in desktop operating systems. The software in server operating systems tends to be somewhat behind “right out of the box”, but can be fairly easy to update using the software management tools provided.

[NokNok.tv] Stat Clash: Nokia N900 vs HTC Desire: The Nokia N900 is the better device when it comes to storage, thanks to a whopping 32GB of internal memory, plus the ability to add more via microSD cards. With just 576MB of RAM, the HTC Desire falls a long way short, although it also offers a microSD slot for adding your own memory.

[XDASite.com] Nokia N900 - XDASite.com: My first few days using the N900 has resulted in a catalogue of observations and largely frustrations with what it CANT do or doesnt do very well. I wont go into the handset features and specifications here - there are hundreds of reviews of the N900 out there that cover the details better than I can.

[The iPhone Blog] The Competition: Nokia N900 Hands-On | TiPb: pressing too close to one letter meant hitting another, no mutitasking, camera was so-so…jailbreaking…that was a feat by itself…after the device locked back itself…with the 3.1 update, syncing wasnt what i expected (too accostomed to dragging files from PC and placing them in repsective folders)and the capacitive screen…any little “touch” rendered to the point it was annoying…and my list can go on…dont even get me started on the 30 worthwhile apps in the app store…quality not quantity my friends…ive said all that to say this: in no way can the iphone stand up to the n900…simple…even just specs based..no…UI admittedly the n900 needs a few touches around the edges but…no one can deny that the UI doesnt look great still…and is fast…can we please compare the n900 to a real device?

[The iPhone Blog] Nokia S60 N97 mini and Maemo N900 Review ”” Smartphone Round Robin: It's tough for any platform to compete with the (as of this review) 116000 plus iPhone and iPod touch apps in the iTunes App Store. Nokia is going to try with the Ovi Store, already launched for the S60 and coming soon for the N900.

[Nokia Conversations - All Comments] Which next-gen smartphone features do you want to see? | Nokia ...: Infact i would have put mobile projectors the last but included first, since Samsung and LG will already be releasing such devices in 2010, so Nokia needs to have something to compete unless Nokia implements the mobile projector better than anyone else can think about, in that case they can afford to be late to market. But knowing history, Nokia has never done any such thing at the first try(let alone several tries), though it would be perfect if Nokia can do that as that is required now more than ever with competition more fierce than ever.

[9 to 5 Mac - Apple Intelligence] Nokia and Intel choose Linux to face Apple, Google | 9 to 5 Mac: The plan goes beyond the phone - Google’s OS plans, as are those of Microsoft and Apple are now faced with a strong new threat: Linux-based MeeGo is “designed to work across a range of hardware architectures and devices including mobile computers, netbooks, tablets, mediaphones, connected TVs and in-vehicle infotainment systems,” the companies revealed.

[Starry Hope] 15 Ways Nokia's N900 Is Better Than Apple's iPhone (and 5 ways ...: I hated how American products always used commercial to compete with other products on the market and by misleading all the consumers. If you ever pay attention to the automobile commercial….chev,gm,any American car was better on mileages then Honda, Toyota? But at the same time Japanese car makers will never mention any of that toward American cars yet….you will see 80% drivers are still using Japanese made or imported car on the street….why?you be the judge. If is a good car, good mobile phone, any good products speak to itself. Not to mention how easy it is to crack or hack into any Apple products…People…don’t judge anything by its brand name or popularity, use it before you speak for others.I used both devices…I have to say…Nokia is still the king of all mobiles world and it will go a long way & far beyond any Apples….

[Al4] Nokia N900 Buyer Review « Al4: Android is a bit too tied to Google’s services (a company which already knows much more about me than I would like to admit), and while Nokia are certainly trying to push their Ovi suite of services, they would be foolish to make it difficult for you to use competing services. My credibility as a reviewer drops somewhat given my lack of experience in using Android, and quality time with an iPhone.

[iphone blog] Nokia S60 N97 mini and Maemo N900 Review ”” Smartphone Round Robin: There are some inarguably excellent S60 apps as well, including the social-network powerhouse, Gravity, and two way video calling with Fring (the iPhone can only receive, not send, video calls via Fring). For the N900, you have to be a higher level geek and get into repositories if you want 3rd party apps, but come on, the thing runs a full Mozilla desktop-style browser.
