[ehMac.ca - 5,6] I have had my old PowerMac G4 lying around the office for a couple of years just being used for website and Flash testing. It is ten years old this winter and it’s time to retire it forever as the ancient and completely obsolete guts it has now make it next to useless when compared to my modern Macs.

Although we can install DIMMs at a time one but we can get increased performance by installing these software in pairs and 128 MB DIMMs are available and can fit into the memory slots on the Power Macintosh pre G3 power computers.

[TechNews AM] Cult of Mac comes up with yet another classic re-use of an old Mac: they posted about this PowerMac G5 sidepanel that's been turned into an office space Nerf basketball backboard. The cardboard setup apparently broke down, so they replaced it with this Apple logo-labeled sidepanel from an old PowerMac G5 that had been turned into parts.

Slam Dunk: Power Mac G5 Panel Morphs into Basketball Backboard ...

[Cult of Mac] “As we were scrapping an old PowerMac G5 for parts, I realized that we could recycle the door to become our new heavy backboard. Two short screws were used to attach the plastic bracket to the door and another two longer ones to go into the concrete pillar in the office wall.”
