[2 Static] Powerbook Makes High Buzz Static Noise and Crashes?: Powerbook Makes High Buzz Static Noise and Crashes? My mac has worked great for the last 2 years since ive owned it and it just started to act a lil differently about 2 weeks ago.

[Low End Mac] The Unibody MacBook, MacBook Pro Sound Problems, Welcome to ...: In your recent Compleat Guide to thePowerBook G3 Pismo, when referring to the Pismo's maximum RAMspecs, you made a statement to the effect that "there are some minorlimitations that adhere with 1 GB of RAM installed." Would youelaborate on this, please? I've never heard of any issues with thatconfiguration, and several Google searches turned up no problems orlimitations that I could find.

[Keep the byte.] Keep the byte.: Swisscom (Un)limited on Mac - Install Notes 1: The red light on the card suddenly stop blinking. That sometimes cause the PowerBook to hang (hard reboot needed to recover).

[The Blog from Another Dimension] The Blog from Another Dimension » Did Obama Just Pull a Double-Whammy?: So Obama comes out of his first battle with more or less exactly the legislation he wanted, and bears the sheen of bipartisanship while the Republicans come across as partisan obstructionists who voted almost entirely against a job-creation and tax-cutting bill that will help America get out of a dire economic mess the Republicans created.

[MacInTouch] PowerBook G4: Hard Drives: Regarding Graham Needham's message regarding the 80 GB Toshiba drive failures in PowerBook G4s, I can say that my PowerBook G4 1.25 GHz with its original Toshiba drive is still going (no problems, no SMART alerts, knock on wood). In any event, ALL hard drives (not just Toshibas) will fail at some point and laptop drives are more likely to fail sooner than desktop drives due to the fact that they're generally subjected to more physical shock than desktop drives (constantly being moved around, etc.) and are made to tighter tolerances due to their smaller size, among other things.

[Speak Up] Speak Up Ӽ The Powerbook! The Powerbook! The Powerbook's on Fire!: So in 2 days a new battery was delivered, but the problems were still there, so I called and they said I should take it to an Apple Store, so there I lost it for a week and they replaced the motherboard (and repaired something that had to do with the HD) and they wanted to replace the cover (they had scratched it), but I was going on holiday very soon, so I wanted it back. So when I got it back the whole laptop looked bent (it was) and there was enormous tension on the outside (the thin part above the opening button even broke after two weeks), because it didn't fit the inside anymore which had been bent by all the heat.

[jkOnTheRun] jkOnTheRun » Blog Archive Aluminum MacBooks don’t like memory ...: RAM upgrades can be notorious, even for PC notebooks, which is why it is the one thing I never skimp on today when configuring a laptop - Always order with the maximum amount allowable. I’ve never owned an Apple, however, so if Apple isn’t offering an upgrade for a particular model, I would say it either doesn’t support higher RAM (quote me wrong here if you like) or it requires memory incompatible with existing modules, and Apple has yet to procure higher capacity samples.

[Red Sweater Blog] Red Sweater Blog - MBP: Noise Update: CPU noise (both plugged-in and on battery) and both make the cow noise. One has been in the shop for two weeks now as the service folks swap parts in an attempt to solve the CPU noise (I had also reported the cow noise - to sceptical looks.) Before taking it in, when I spoke to the very first Applecare tech about the noises, I tried to make the noise by essentially mooing into the phone.

[thoughton:digitallife] thoughton:digitallife 17" MacBook Pro in da house - one user's gripes: Admittedly the MacBook Pro's screen glides very smoothly and is easily adjusted with a light push from a single finger while the Powerbook screen takes two hands to adjust (one to move the screen and one to hold the base of the laptop to stop it moving!)However there is a flaw - if you lie down on your back in bed or on a sofa with your knees bent, putting the MacBook Pro on your lap results in the screen falling down and closing itself!

[No, Dave, it's just you] No, Dave, it’s just you » Blog Archive » How good is your color?: Brand new 2.4GHz Core Duo MacBook, and although the 24 bit test image looks ok, there is a lot of background noise to the image, due to temporal dithering. Worse still, the grey background on the comments section shows a clear dithering pattern, something like a grid of dots.
