http://www.betalogue.com [Betalogue] MacBook: The mooing noise disaster: So I got on the phone with AppleCare, and did a little bit of experimenting while talking with the girl on the phone, during which we discovered that the noise would only occur when the power adapter was connected to the laptop and charging it. If the power adapter was only plugged in, but not connected to the laptop, there wouldn’t be any abnormal noise.

Whereas matte displays (not available for the MB, but available for the MacBook Pro) have an anti-glare coating that makes the display significantly less reflective (though you can still get glare) but reduces color saturation and contrast. As for outdoor use, one commenter prefers glossy because it results in only a few specular highlights (as opposed to wide diffuse reflection) and you can shift the screen to avoid those, while another commenter says that their MBP (with matte screen) is quite usable outside as long as the light falls onto the screen, while their friend’s Windows laptop has a glossy display and is much too reflective to use outdoors.

The additional bandwidth is quite comfortable when transferring files or watching QuickTime videos over the wireless network.

Tuaw.com[Tuaw.com] The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW): I saw 'An Inconvenient Truth' last night and I couldn't help but think, 'This is one long commercial about Apple.' Al Gore is seen, in almost every scene, sitting at his Powerbook fiddling with his presentation in Keynote, or giving his presentation with his Powerbook front and center. Apple has posted an article detailing the use of Keynote during the production of the film, and why it was used (ease of use and the ability to import HD video top the list).

By looking at images of the keyboard on the Apple site, I notice that the four cursor keys occupy as a whole the space of a single key.

Gizmodo.comhttp://gizmodo.com [Gizmodo.com] Gizmodo - Powerbook: Rumors are flying that Apple is giving their Powerbook G4 lineup one last run around the track before sending it to the glue factory. Word has it that the last updates will include high density displays with a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a 30mhz speed bump, DDR2 RAM, and a written apology from Apple for keeping the Powerbook G4 around long enough for me to care.
