Love the Mac > Photos of the Apple Tablet - Hi.

[Hi.] The tablet looks a little too square to be something coming from Apple. On the other hand, that desk looks awfully like the desks at Apple.

Push notifications are great, but the ability to switch from one app to the other without having to close it is essential if the Apple Tablet is going to be used for even the most basic computing tasks.

[Untitled] Apple Tablet: The Second Stage Media Booster Rocket: With supply chain reports from Asia that light-weight 10.1" LCD and OLED screen components are in short supply due to large purchases presumably by Apple, we can surmise that the device will be thin and light, designed for portability. Further supporting this notion is the pattern of apps we detect for restaurant, movie show times and other apps that help users find points of interest around them, including travel guide applications.

[News at Tonic.com] Can Apple's Tablet-Thingee Save Journalism? - Tonic: Whether it's an iPad (ewww), iSlate, iTablet or even iBook, it remains unclear whether we'll be presented with an enhanced iPhone device, Apple's answer to the e-reader, or really just a mini laptop (boo!) Chances are, however, that Apple won't be re-inventing the wheel in any way, but rather completely changing the rules of the game.

[Jim's Marketing Blog] The Apple Tablet and Word of Mouth: In my opinion, the BBC are not doing anything wrong with their reporting of this (though many disagree).  The BBC need to cover the rumours surrounding the device, because the actual rumours themselves have now become news – Kudos to Apple!

[The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)] Pricing the tablet: How high can they go?: In other words, I think it could be likely that Apple will push high on their initial price, moving that price downwards as early adopters give way to regular consumers later this year during pre-Christmas Q4 sales. As much as I want my $699 contract-free tablet, I don't think Apple's is anywhere near being on board with that low number.

[TheAppleBlog] Rumor Has It: AT&T Losing iPhone Exclusivity this Wednesday: It doesn’t come as any great surprise to hear about the end of AT&T’s exclusive partnership with Apple, but I will be surprised if El Jobso deliberately announces it during his keynote. After all, if he did announce it, at what may become the most-watched-and-reported-on  keynote in Apple’s history, the predictable whoops of delight from the attendees will be hugely embarrassing for AT&T.

[TheAppleBlog] Decline of the Desktop Mac: But for less than $1000 I could build a machine with as much or more power than the iMac and as much or more upgradability and expandability as the Mac Pro. Sadly all I really want is a computer with room for maybe two internal hard drives and a free slot for a decent GPU (it can even ship with a 9400M or other such low-end GPU on the motherboard).
