[Davenetics: Newsmonger] Sonnet Offering TiBook Upgrade Service: If you've got an old 550mhz or 667mhz TiBook around and $500 to blow, you're set. Sonnet will now offer a 1.2ghz upgrade for the TiBook with 512k of L2 onboard cache.
[Gizmodo, The Gadget Blog] Upgrade: Sonnet has only been offering DIY CPU-upgrade kits for mac users up until now. If you’ve got an old 550mhz or 667mhz TiBook around and $500 to blow, you’re set.
[A Penny For...] Apple PowerBook Carrying Case by todds: I use a sleeve (in my case, the extremely silly and stylish Crumpler School Hymn in silver leather) around the Powerbook, after which I toss it into a canvas briefcase that looks nothing like a laptop bag (mine is a Lands End square rigger). There's plenty of room for all my other stuff as well and cables.
[Gizmodo.com] Gizmodo - Laptops: Which means an iSight integrated PowerBook could arrive sooner rather than later considering that Apple has made a huge effort to push iChat AV onto people with the promise of a better videoconferencing experience. Our guess is that if they do decide to create a laptop with a built in video camera, it’ll be in the PowerBook, which is long overdue for a design overhaul.
[Matt.makalumedia.com] Matt Henderson's Blog: 12" Powerbook G4: For the past few years, I've found that, except in the area of media processing (like making iMovies), the level of computing power in most Macintosh computers is quite comfortable for me. One important note, however, is that until I upgraded the Powerbook with an addition 512MB of memory, the stock 256 MB will result in quite some virtual memory disk swapping (if you, like me, like to keep a number of applications always open.)
[Oreillynet.com] Good-bye Powerbook G4, Hello Dell 700m + iPod Nano: I really don't have the patience for all this anymore :-( You could say that OSX has spoilt me. For now, I plan on going with XP - coupled with Cygwin, I think I should be able to get my work done, and I will be able to use iTunes natively :-) Besides, I also want to develop some tools using Visual Studio .
