[Notes from a messy desk] OK, I’ve already linked to it on my del.icio.us, but I think this deserves a proper post. MailTags is a plugin for Mac OS X 10.4’s Mail.app which allows you to add extra metadata to messages.

Educational Weblogs: MailTags is open source, but the developers are asking for donations to support their work. With all the email I deal with in my work, having this capability will make it far easier to tag important messages, as the site puts it, "during inbox triage". (via Cosmos)

"Damn You, Sir, You Have Killed Me!": Mail Act-On provides a cheap way to file mails with a quick keystroke combination, sparing people the pain of AppleScripting something for themselves. The obvious application for GTD people is pointed out by the author himself: Creating Act/Hold/Respond/Wait/Someday folders and filing to them as appropriate. (via Cosmos)
[Woss.name] Notes from a messy desk: It integrates well with other command line applications (like being able to push the current buffer through a python script, then back in to the buffer again). There’s a command line program tm_wait which behaves in such a way that it can be used as $EDITOR (or $VISUAL) for writing CVS/Subversion commit messages, because it stays in the foreground ’til the file is edited and closed.
