[The ADC Blog] The ADC Blog: New content available in the Adobe Developer Connection: being completly unfamiliar with webdesign techniques, but knowing exactly what I want can be quite trying for me and my webdesigner. [Veerle's blog] The new Adobe icons and branding | Veerle's blog: What we had in the CS2 days were elaborate 3d-rendered icons for documents and things which looked nice at really huge views but reduced to little puddles of pixel mud at the small sizes. Arguably it's the 16px and maybe 32px icon view that are the most prevalent, so it's those sizes that we focused on in creating our technique for rendering the figures. The new bits look simple, and in contrast to the 3d-style work out there they are, but there's a lot of nuance to give them richness that scales to the larger sizes.
[hicksdesign - journal] Graphics Editor or Text Editor? / journal / hicksdesign: Part of me wants to agree with the 37signal guys because I have been in a situation where visual designers spend a large portion of there time in photoshop designing things that will never see the light of day in markup (also photoshop files are throwaway files for the most part). On the other hand, I think time can be wasted pushing and pulling pixels around via css.
[John Nack on Adobe] John Nack on Adobe: Feedback, please: What next for Adobe Bridge?: CS3 Bridge at work, CS4 at home, but anyway at work I do some video editing that uses WMV as source files (because of the the technology platform they've chosen) and anyhow, starting up a Premiere Pro project is hard because Bridge won't tell me the FPS of the video until after I've imported it into Premiere and inevitably discover that what I guessed was the frame-rate was actually wrong and so I have to start a new project (because Premiere Pro CS3 doesn't have an easy way to change the project settings). So being able to see those settings in Bridge before creating the Premiere project would be awesome - after the project is created and the source video has been edited, I can see the Frame-rate via Bridge just fine.
