[mademistakes] I couldn’t afford a Power Mac G5 so I focused on the iMac product line. I can remember holding out for months waiting for Apple to update from the lamp-shade form factor to the new slim and white design.

iMac - G5 Matshita Superdrive and DVD-RW media

[Mac-Forums.com] I just inherited an IMac G5 from my wife after getting her a new IMac for her birthday. I'm running 10.4.11 with a Matshita Superdrive...and therein lies the problem.

iMac - G5 iMac (non intel) running at HD 63°C

[Mac-Forums.com] I'm not really using the machine for anything other than emailing and browsing at the moment - although I normally do some photoshop work etc. The only unusual circumstances are that the drive has been running for about 3 solid days doing an online backup (to Mozy.com) which has another 13 days estimated to go!

Wireless broadband on my iMac G5

[mactalk Forums] Anyone out there, I need help, I have just bought one of the Optus 3G wireless broadband modems, it works fine on my girl's PC laptop, but I have one of the 17" G5 iMac's, bought it in 2004 i think from memory.

G3 iMac good enough for casual user?

[The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)] The CRT iMacs will always hold a special place in my heart since my first Mac was a 'Blueberry' iMac (yes, I know the picture accompanying this post isn't a Blueberry iMac, it is an Indigo iMac) which is still being used today by my decidedly non-technical mother.

My G5 Wants Intel Inside

[carpeaqua] I have to agree with Justin, the previous iMac was okay--quirky in its special way with the 1/2 circle as its base and the easy extension of the monitor....Justin suggested I get the new iMac instead of a G5 since I'm not tech tech tech, he has a point, BUT, first, I would rather have the G5, but second, the new iMac IS hideous. Unfortunately IU just did away with all the previous iMacs and got the new ones.

Mac Useless Geek Tip

[Peachwater, Tx. Journal] I was running a PowerMac QuickSilver G4 on OS 9.2.2 and 10.3.9, a PowerMac G5 (Dual 2.3GHz!) on 10.4.1, and an iMac 20-inch G5 on 10.4. I had the two desktop computers connected into the same 19" LCD monitor and was able to switch between the two inputs. Having three keyboards clustered together on the desktop was a bit confusing, but luckily one had black keys, the other white, and the third was pushed off to the side until it was needed.
