[MacInTouch] Apple: Mac 25 Years: I went to work for Apple at their technical support call centre (the Apple Assistance Centre - AAC) and learned an amazing amount and (hopefully) helped a lot of people during my time there (there were some famous people especially those that called the special tech support line for the BBC). Too many amazing stories to tell them all here but the one call I took with the guy who had 1.5GB (yes, GIGAbytes) of RAM in his PowerMacintosh 9500 in 1996 and no one would believe that he could have that much memory was fun (back then we worked out it would have cost around £18000 just for the memory alone!)

[Submit Express Search Engine News] Search Engine Marketing and Optimization News Articles, SEO News: Executives at mobile technology company Siri have taken great pains to explain that their new iPhone app is not a search engine -- going so far as to call it the Siri Assistant and position it as a “virtual personal assistant.” However, as Search Engine Land points out, even if it technically isn’t a search engine, many iPhone users will likely use it like a search engine in order to find relevant, localized information. [AppleQuack.com] Process: Just another Project manager: I can understand removing the Gantt charts, timelines and graphing for most projects, but it gets a bit too lassez faire/genY when you remove any interface for overall vision and plan. I’m not saying I use this stuff all the time, or as much as I should, but that is what I need when I choose to plan a project.

[Comments for SunstoneBlog] Sunstone Magazine: Ostler tells us ?¢‚Ǩ?ìthe limited geography model emerged before the turn of the [twentieth] century and was derived from a careful reading of the Book of Mormon text itself, not a desire to escape challenges from science or anthropology.?¢‚Ǩ¬Ã¹ Citing Matthew Roper?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s recent article, Ostler adds that RLDS Louis Edward Hills was ?¢‚Ǩ?ìthe first writer to advance a fully limited Book of Mormon geography?¢‚Ǩ¬Ã¹ between 1917 and 1924 (Matthew Roper, ?¢‚Ǩ?ìLimited Geography and the Book of Mormon: Historical Antecedents and Early Interpretations,?¢‚Ǩ¬Ã¹ FARMS Review 16/2 [2004]: 260). As far as Utah Mormons were concerned, Roper traced ?¢‚Ǩ?ìthe first versions of a fully limited Book of Mormon geography?¢‚Ǩ¬Ã¹ to the years ?¢‚Ǩ?ì1920 to 1926?¢‚Ǩ¬Ã¹ (Ibid., 261), specifically removal of some footnotes from the 1920 edition of the Book of Mormon and Janne Sjodahl?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s 1927 article in the Improvement Era as starting points (Ibid., 257, 261).

[MacInTouch] Applications: Adobe: It is very slow to install, it installs an enormous number of files (many unneeded language localizations), and there is something about it and its files which makes cloning an arduous process (even with the new CarbonCopyCloner 3 -- you could see the cloning zipping along until it got to Adobe files, where it slowed down to a crawl). I tried all the disk/permissions repairs, I tried CS3 repair installs (which indicated various failures), and I finally used the CS3 uninstaller and even THAT failed - I had to go in and manually delete several of the application folders and all the help files, caches, etc, because it seemed having anything at all "CS3"
