[Cafe Bucky] I’m in the midst of winding up a contract, and am closing the door on future Tcl/AOLServer gigs. It’s nice that I am very good with those technologies, but it also ties me to a very small set of opportunities. I’m interested in being out in the world, where there’s a critical mass of mind-share.

In general, I believe that big-name bloggers deserve the fame they have. Dooce's sheer ubuquity may annoy me from time to time, but there's a reason she's ubiquitous: she's one hell of a writer, and is very humble about all of the attention she's received. She's posted entries which are so exquisite and fluid in their prose that I walk away humbled, wondering what I have to do before I'm a real writer like her.
