After all, Apple was clearly influenced by some of the technology Microsoft showed off back then and knew that it could come to market much more quickly than the software giant.

As a precaution, this plugin has not been loaded.”

Gigaom.com[Gigaom.com] Om Malik’s Broadband Blog » RSS, Tiger Safari and the Bandwidth ...: Lets say if one of these news operations updated their site once an hour and each update results in a nominal 5 kilobytes of RSS generated data, then 500,000 simultaneous Safari users polling at top of the hour would mean a total data transfer of over 2 gigabytes per hour. Times 24, and you have over 48 gigabytes of data transfer every day - just from Safari users alone.

[Whiterabbits.com] Mac Net Journal: I still use Apple machines because the OS is solid, the machines are virus and spyware free with no need to do any work at all to keep them that way, and there are some great software tools like NNW available for the Mac. Steve Jobs has an ego as big as the moon and Apple itself is totally in bed with the big companies, but you can still use their tools and bend them to your own evil plans.

[Tuaw.com] The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW): Apple assured Wolfram they would pull the update immediately and rectify the problem ASAP, however Security Update 2005-007 version 1.0 is still showing up in Software Update and is still available on Apple's own website. Since Wolfram and Apple are best buds (Wolfram co-founder Theodore Gray was even featured in Steve's 2002 Macworld San Francisco Keynote, extolling the virtues of Mathmatica for OS X), it is a bit alarming that Apple would release something that completely breaks their award-winning application.
