[Garoo - Blog] I can understand that the Dashboard’s developers wouldn’t want to delete the code that makes the widget well appear and the widgets above move around, but when you’re developing an OS (and for Apple, moreover) that’s not a sufficient excuse to add an extra layer of complexity to the interface, instead of simply replacing it with a simple manager. What fundamental reason is there to prevent users from drag-and-dropping widgets straight from the manager to the Dashboard?

[Tuaw.com] The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW): Ever since Dashboard was announced this has been something I've been worried about, because a widget is just a special kind of web page, but widgets can run Cocoa (native code) elements. Being able to run native code elements from a browser window has been the BIG security hole at Microsoft for getting on for a decade now.
[Alexedelman.net] AlexEdelman.net | elephant ninja for america: Speaking as somebody who was incredibly unpopular in high school and surrounded by "the beautiful people", I can personally attest to how unfair and cruel that sounds. In addition to being incredibly useful and efficient, your Dashboard Widget must also be shiny and pretty and fit in with his Widget brethren.
[Theappleblog.com] The Apple Blog » Apple Widgets Page Goes Live- Updated: Be warned, though, that while the page is live, some of the links to widgets are not, with the links directing to missing pages. So if you’re the type who wants everything to be ready the moment you install Tiger, now you can get a head start and start downloading widgets.
