We're still awaiting our review sample and hope to begin testing in the coming weeks, but until then there are a number of items worth discussing about the new Mac Pro.

http://www.macdailynews.com [Macdailynews.com] MacDailyNews | AnandTech: Mac Pro vs. PowerMac G5: If Apple wasn't getting the kind of price breaks on Woodcrest that DELL used to be able to count on, this new MacPro would be the capstone to a Switch that looks more and more ridiculous with every new product launch. Being able to run Windows on an Apple computer, and the privilege of having a TPM 'spy' chip on the mobo, are not worth the money Apple's spent on this trip.

Digg.comhttp://www.digg.com [Digg.com] digg - AnandTech: Apple's Mac Pro - A True PowerMac Successor: Because its been said on many different sites the Quadro card in the Dell is the only video card you can purchase from Dell that provides both a single-link DVI connector and a dual-link connector for running multiple monitors. I agree that they are not compatible to compare at all, however due to Dells lack of options if you want to run a > 24" monitor and a secondary display (which I think is quite reasonable when paying $3000+ for a computer) I think its fair to bundle the Dell with a card that provides that capability.

And if you’re a heavy multitasker, you will quickly be spoiled by the four very high performance cores that have found their way into the familiar looking chassis.

http://technologyfilter.spaces.live.com [technology filter] Review: Apple Mac Pro: The Mac Pro is the last of Apple's PC product lines to move from the PowerPC to the faster Intel Xeon CPUs. Apple wisely chose to go the laptop route first, since those seem to be the bigger, sexier sellers nowadays.
