[Techdirt] You seem to be under the impression that patents are a bad thing and that copyright is a bad thing (I know you didn't mention it in this post but have many many times in the past). These intellectual property policies are in place to ensure a competitive landscape (you can try to say they "limit" competition, but in fact they protect competition because they prevent ideas from being stolen).

Apple iPhone 2.2 update fixes some issues, causes others ...

[Computerworld Blogs blogs] I am not a fan of the Safari update. I can no longer see as much of the URL as I could before and I can't as easily navigate the URL with changes. There is no reason to put the search engine box to the right of the URL box; it worked fantastically before (the search box would appear below when you clicked on the URL box). A step back. Hopefully Apple has some plans to address this - maybe a preference to go back to the old layout.

Apple sued again for iPhone 3G network woes, iPhone 3G case cracks

[Into iPhone] The lawsuit, filed in New York district court by Nassau County resident Avi Koschitzki, charges Apple and AT&T of misleading potential customers as to the speed of the iPhone 3G internet connection. [textually.org] It doesn't seem that Apple ever thought it would make a huge splash in India, allocating just 50,000 iPhones to that market, according to the article. Of the 120 million mobile phones sold in India each year, around 6 million are of the smartphone variety, and Nokia owns the market with between 60 percent and 70 percent market share.

Six reasons OSX will not go mainstream

[Neowin.net / All] I personally know people who have switched from Windows to Mac simply because Vista suddenly introduced a load of complications into their life. The Vista user interface is nice (reminds me of KDE and a toned-down version of Compiz Fusion), but the poor performance compared to XP and Mac OS X is frustrating to many people - particularly those who don't know and don't care for the underlying reasons behind the performance issues.
