Control a digitalMarionette

[Switchblog] The application I wrote reads out the Powerbook´s sudden motion sensor´s position data and then uses it, to move the marionette accordingly. If you tilt the notebook to the left, the marionette on the screen reacts to gravity and also swings left (and vice versa).

Damn, Microsoft Outlook Really Sucks!

[TimeForBlogging.com] You would think that Outlook would recognize that it had already downloaded the email messages on this new server, but that would be too easy. Apparently, the program has a need to duplicate all old messages previously downloaded before letting me get my new emails.

Tivoli Netcool/RAD 3.0 Enabling Business Service Management or Business Activity Monitoring

[ dougmcclure.net] I’ve had many thoughts on this topic from my past, but the work on this demo and discussions with the client affirmed that leveraging the Tivoli Netcool/RAD platform and enabling technolgies/products as an entry point into Business Service Management (BSM) or Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) is viable. Maybe it’s just the way my brain works, but bringing a Service Oriented Architecture and associated services to life with the Tivoli Netcool/RAD Business Service Management (BSM) / Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) solution was really quite easy.

[Switchblog] I have a slight obession about the weather (though oddly enough I often do not wear weather appropriate clothing) and the Weather Channel has helped feed that obession for a long time. Now, I can get a taste of the Weather Channel right in OS X.

I Love (Hate) Apple

Putting Things in Context

[ActivityOwner.Com] ResultsManager provides a default list of contexts which includes (Anywhere, Home, Web, Office, Computer, Travelling, Errand, When I’m alert, When I’m tired). The documentation also recommends including contexts for “Quick” things that will take less than 10 minutes and “Weekly Review” or “Monthly Review” for things that want to defer consideration on.

Apple announces PowerMac G5 Repair Extension Program for Power Supply Issues

[The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)] Earlier today Apple announced their The Power Mac G5 Repair Extension Program which applies to Power Mac G5 systems that have "power-related issues as a result of a specific component failure within the computer's power supply." In other words, if your G5 isn't starting up and your serial number falls conveniently within ranges indicated, Apple will fix you up on the house. Apple says there are no known safety issues caused by this component failure.

Apple Power Mac G5 Repair Extension Program for Power Supply Issues

[MacNewsBlog] If Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) determines that your Power Mac G5 computer is eligible as part of the program, the power supply repair will be covered by Apple for up to two years from the original date of purchase even if your Power Mac G5 is out of warranty. This worldwide Apple program does not extend the standard warranty coverage of the Power Mac G5.
